1. You knew management was your calling at just 15 years old. How did your school notebook look compared to other teenagers?
I was always highly organized. I loved taking detailed notes and creating summaries that made studying easier. Interestingly, during university, several classmates studied from my notebooks and successfully passed exams using my notes. Looking back, that was probably one of the first signs of my passion for organizing information and helping others achieve results.
2. If Accounting and Management were a celebrity couple, why would they need each other to survive?
Because accounting provides the information, and management transforms that information into decisions. To manage effectively, we need reliable data, and accounting is one of the most powerful sources of that data. Unfortunately, many entrepreneurs still see accounting as merely a legal obligation. I see it differently. When used to its full potential, accounting becomes a strategic tool that helps business owners understand the past, control the present, and build the future.
3. Tell us a little about your personal life and hobbies.
One of the things that makes me happiest is walking in nature at sunset. It allows me to reconnect with myself, enjoy fresh air, sunshine, music, and clear my mind. I also enjoy creating unique handmade pieces, travelling, and spending quality time with my family.
4. Who has been your biggest supporter throughout your entrepreneurial journey?
My family has always been my greatest support. They have encouraged my ambitions and stood by me through every challenge and achievement. I also strongly believe in mentorship and continuous learning, both of which have played an important role in my personal and professional growth.
5. Have you experienced any major professional failures along the way?
Like every entrepreneur, I have faced challenges, setbacks, and moments of uncertainty. However, I prefer not to see them as failures. I see them as opportunities for growth and learning. Every challenge helped me develop new skills, refine strategies, and become stronger as a professional and business owner.
6. What was the most exciting part of becoming CEO of your own company?
Creating my company was the formalization of a dream that had been built over more than ten years. It represented the evolution of a professional journey dedicated to helping entrepreneurs grow stronger businesses and make better decisions.
7. Do you work only with Portuguese companies?
No. Today, I work with clients from countries such as Canada, the United States, Brazil, Italy, and Peru, helping them establish and grow their businesses in Portugal. Working with entrepreneurs from different cultures has enriched my perspective and strengthened my ability to adapt to each client’s reality.
8. Do you provide services in other languages?
Yes. I regularly work in English and increasingly in Spanish. Clear communication is essential in the relationship between an accountant, consultant, and entrepreneur, which is why I continuously invest in improving my language skills.
9. Is it easy or difficult to start and manage a business in Portugal and Europe?
Starting a business and managing a business are two very different things. Opening a company may be simple. Learning how to lead, manage people, make strategic decisions, and grow sustainably is the true entrepreneurial journey. Nobody is born a great manager; we become better managers through learning, experience, and the right support.
10. How does your company use modern technology?
We use digital tools, collaborative systems, and artificial intelligence solutions to improve communication, increase efficiency, and provide more valuable support to our clients. I believe technology should free professionals from repetitive tasks so they can focus on creating value and supporting better decision-making.
11. How do you help entrepreneurs understand the connection between people management and profitability?
People are not simply a cost. They are an investment. The right people bring productivity, creativity, better customer service, and growth. The greatest asset of any company is not its numbers, but the people behind those numbers.
12. What is the most common financial mistake entrepreneurs make?
Failing to separate personal and business finances. Even when it is not legally required, I always recommend opening a dedicated business bank account from day one. This simple habit creates clarity and helps entrepreneurs understand whether their business is truly profitable.
13. Have you received awards, official recognition, or notable recommendations for your work?
I have received recognition for participating as a co-author in a book published in Brazil and have been fortunate to receive several acknowledgements throughout my professional journey. However, what matters most to me is the trust my clients place in me. Many come through referrals, several have been with me since the beginning of my business, and I regularly receive feedback about the positive impact my work has had on their companies. I am also proud to host the Negócio Pod+ podcast, where I share practical insights on management, entrepreneurship, and business growth. In addition, I am preparing to launch my upcoming book, ‘Gerir para o Sucesso’ (Managing for Success), which reflects my mission to help entrepreneurs build stronger, more sustainable businesses.
14. Do you have plans to organise in-person events, online sessions, or open days for entrepreneurs?
Absolutely. One of the projects I am most proud of is the Gestão 360 – Business Summit, an event I created to bring entrepreneurs together to learn, network, and share experiences. The third edition will take place in Lisbon this November.
Alongside this, I regularly deliver online masterclasses, workshops, and training sessions. Through my podcast, Negócio Pod+, and my upcoming book, Gerir para o Sucesso, I aim to reach even more entrepreneurs and help them develop the management skills needed to build successful businesses.
